Catholic Character
The University of Notre Dame’s academic mission is enriched by the substantial and ever-growing intellectual and cultural resources of Catholicism. The contributions of these resources to teaching and research in Theology and some aspects of Philosophy are obvious, but elsewhere in the University they are also a creative presence.
In order to appreciate better why Notre Dame draws on the intellectual and cultural resources of Catholicism and some of the ways in which it aspires to help grow them, the following may be of interest.
