Brandon E. Roach is Senior Advisor to the Provost at the University of Notre
Dame.

Roach graduated from Notre Dame in 1999 summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, earning a B.A. in Government and Sociology. After graduating from the University, Roach returned to his hometown of Lake
Charles, Louisiana, to help manage his father’s successful campaign for mayor. The
following year, Roach entered Yale Law School, where he was an editor of the Yale Law Journal and a member of its admissions committee. Upon graduating from law school with a J.D. in 2003, Roach served as a law clerk to the Honorable Judge Julia Smith Gibbons of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Following his clerkship, Roach moved to Houston, Texas, where he practiced
appellate law as an associate of the law firm of Vinson & Elkins L.L.P. At
Vinson & Elkins, Roach worked on numerous appellate matters at both the state and
federal level, including matters before the Supreme Court of the United States and the
United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He returned to Notre Dame in 2006 and recently taught a class on the Supreme Court to undergraduates.

Roach is married to Clare Deckelman Roach, who also earned a B.A. from Notre
Dame in 1999 and who taught in the Alliance for Catholic Education program. They have three young children.
