Strategic Academic Planning Committee

The Strategic Academic Planning Committee (SAPC) guided the University in investing significant new funding to enhance its research excellence, the goal being to supplement strategic plans and processes already in place at the department, center, institute, and school/college levels. Part of the initiative's emphasis was on transinstitutional research projects involving faculty from different disciplines, departments, and schools/colleges.

In the course of two rounds of funding, the SAPC awarded approximately $80 million to Strategic Research Investments proposed by Notre Dame faculty.
