Task Force on Asian Studies

The work of the Task Force on Asian Studies advanced differently than that typical of other ad hoc committees and task forces at the University. The task force filed an interim report with the provost in May 2006. With the concurrence of the task force, the provost then initiated a process of identifying actions that could be taken to further the momentum generated by the task force's work rather than require the task force to complete a final report. As a result of this process and with the generous support of benefactors, the provost appointed an advisor for Asia initiatives to develop a comprehensive assessment of Notre Dame's engagement with Asia, to enhance and expand the University's relationships with entities and organizations in Asia, and to assist in developing future strategic priorities for the University's Asia initiatives. The advisor for Asia initiatives is Dr. Jonathan Noble.
