Pinar Zorlutuna

Sheehan Family Collegiate Professor of Engineering

“I have always been moved by the collegiality and warmth that I have experienced here at Notre Dame. This started from the first second I stepped on campus, and with the pandemic has been taken to a whole new level. The past 18 months have shown us all how hard it is to live in isolation and how important it is to have a community to support you like a tight-knit family. I cannot imagine a better community to be a part of.

“I teach aerospace and mechanical engineering students who always impress me with their passion to innovate for humanity. With the help of my students, I conduct research on new bioengineering approaches for diagnosis and treatment of things like heart disease and cancer. Notre Dame’s mission to be a force for good motivates me to pursue this goal to its fullest.”
