Inspired Leadership Initiative

The University of Notre Dame is proud to share with you the launch of the Inspired Leadership Initiative. Designed for leaders from all vocations who have built accomplished careers and now wish to discern and catalyze the next stage of their lives, the program will help participants forge ahead as renewed and richly prepared forces for good in their communities and beyond.

The Inspired Leadership Initiative (ILI) is a one-year program, commencing in mid-2018 and occurring annually thereafter, that will connect selected fellows (and their spouses, as desired) to the world-class resources of Notre Dame, both on the main campus and globally. This journey is proposed to consist of the following elements:

  • An opportunity commencing in May with occasional gatherings throughout the summer to explore the questions most critical to those who will find this program valuable, such as: Who am I meant to be? How do I discern my next act? What resources should I avail myself of to be most fulfilled and valuable? How do I find enriching community at this stage in life?
  • A curriculum throughout the 2018–2019 academic year that will have core elements designed to expose fellows to the best of Notre Dame faculty and relevant outside speakers as well as components tailored for each fellow based on individual interests.

All participants will have access to Notre Dame’s distinctive offerings for spiritual enrichment, its Global Gateway facilities, community engagement events, and a unique approach to wellness and individualized coaching.

Importantly, there will also be ample opportunity to build lifelong relationships with other fellows and the broader University community at social, athletic, artistic, and academic activities at Notre Dame and in the South Bend/Michiana region. These opportunities will be made available to all fellows and spouses.

ILI is sponsored by Charles and Jill Fischer Provost Tom Burish and the deans of the Keough School for Global Affairs, the College of Arts and Letters, the College of Science, and the College of Engineering with broad support from and access to the entire University.

We are confident that this program will be powerfully transformational for the fellows who participate in it and at the same time contribute meaningfully to the Notre Dame community and beyond. There is no better place than the University of Notre Dame to move accomplished individuals from retired leaders to inspired leaders.
