Emily Tacoma is the Associate Program Director for Faculty and Academic Operations, providing project management and operational expertise in support of Maura Ryan in her role as Vice President and Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs. Among other duties, Emily facilitates faculty elections for University committees, drives the operations for academic policies and procedures, and works closely with colleagues across the Provost's Office and Deans Offices to ensure that initiatives from New Faculty Orientation to the administration of leaves and retirements are well-organized and effective.

Prior to her position in the Provost’s Office, Emily Tacoma worked in the Dean’s Office of the Keough School of Global Affairs, managing and streamlining faculty processes including appointments, reappointments, promotions, tenure, leaves, and annual reports.

Before joining Notre Dame, Tacoma spent four years working with Catholic Charities, serving those in need in St. Joseph County by directing community members to resources, supporting the financial assistance process, and feeding the hungry through management of weekly food pantry services. Prior to that, she co-led a small team consisting of Japanese young adults and a Korean-American woman that traveled to key historical locations in China and South Korea to focus on reconciliation following the devastation of World War II. Tacoma has spent time in different roles in the primary educational realm as a children’s library assistant and as an educational interpreter for Deaf students.
