Faculty Award
The Faculty Award recognizes impactful and lasting service to the University of Notre Dame as a leader among faculty colleagues, including through mentorship of junior faculty; leadership as a department chair, director of undergraduate or graduate studies; service on a departmental or academic awards committee; and/or through demonstrated commitment to advancing Notre Dame colleagues for external recognition. Up to one Faculty Award winner will be selected annually.
Eligibility
Eligible nominees must have been employed as full-time members of the regular faculty for the last five years (since the start of the fall semester of the 2018-19 academic year) and never previously won the award.
As of Spring 2024, all faculty who meet the above criteria are eligible for nomination—including past winners—but the award may be won only once moving forward.
Primary Evaluation Criteria
Nominations must demonstrate:
- Sustained leadership among faculty colleagues
- Strong record of University service
- Commitment to assisting the professional development and/or recognition of junior colleagues
